Just back from Baselworld... my collection of wristshots...

Mar 12, 2012,14:49 PM

4 days in basel, more than 5800 pics, more than 30 appointments... a strong headache on Saturday (thanks to the Harry Winston team for the 2 pills which were a true relief...) and more important, a lot of encounters and chats with friends!

I think that all these reports will take me more than 1 year of work...

I always admire your for being inpartial to any brands. A few are very intriguing to me - What is that Voutilainen? Breguet 10 Hz and Jurgensen... These are what I am much anticipating more details. Thanks again! Ken

Thanks for a wondeful photographic tour of Basel. [nt]

I am a bit taken aback

 By: Gary G : March 13th, 2012-07:34
No offense to you or Kari, but I am quite surprised that you were permitted to put the unique tourbillon on your wrist when it is the property of someone else who has not yet taken delivery! When my new KV piece arrives my hope will be that I am the first...

Taken aback

 By: lc : March 13th, 2012-16:16
Whist I can understand Garys stance completely, to clear the air, Kari was given carte blanch by myself in regard to promoting our tourbillon at Basel. Whilst I am justly proud to be the owner of such a beautifully crafted piece, my satifaction comes in f...

Marvellous sentiment Colin...

 By: pplater : March 13th, 2012-17:10
It's a very personal thing: whilst agreeing entirely with Gary's view had there not been such carte blanche given, your approach is to be much admired. So, too, is your patronage of a Master such as KV, from which we all benefit. Congratulations on a love...

Very generous indeed!

 By: Gary G : March 14th, 2012-02:02
Colin -- many thanks for weighing in here, and please accept my apology for rushing to your defense when obviously no help was needed! Like you, I am a big fan of sharing the joy of my watches by having others handle and wear them (and of course it doesn'...

Bravo Colin! [nt]

It's really great to see you, and also a lot of us fellow PuristS like Gary are actually advocates of sharing their watch-loving passion, even on a physical level that we allow others at watch fairs to experience these wonderful time pieces that we're for...

Beautiful pictures!

 By: dxboon : March 13th, 2012-08:28
I find the Haldimann H9 still challenges me. On an intellectual level I try to justify it -- maybe it's the ultimate poetic complication (your imagining of the time display adds the "poetry"), maybe it's a watch that takes advantage of the sonic propertie...

Your wrist will never recover from this.....

 By: Darren : March 13th, 2012-08:58
But in all seriousness, that is precisely the report I was looking to see. You managed to capture the most interesting timepieces, INHO, in the wild and on the wrist. I would love to own quite a few of those, but alas I'll instead enjoy your scans from af...

Thank you all !

But now, the most complicated task begins: to write the reports! Fx

Don't worry about the reports mon ami !!

 By: bimbeano : March 14th, 2012-23:33
We've got plenty of time so don't rush it Does your wrist hurt now? Bim

look Ma, no buttons !!!

 By: jfsuperior : March 13th, 2012-15:34
Hi, Your collection of photos is mouth watering and eye-candy. In the third watch from the top you show a Bell & Ross chronograph that looks cool and intriguing. Where are the pusher buttons? Please provide more info. Thank you for sharing. Best regards, ...

re: look Ma, no buttons

 By: jfsuperior : March 13th, 2012-15:41
I just realized this watch is NOT a chrono though the sub dials had me thinking initially that the top is a minute counter and the bottom one an hour counter. Jack

there are some funky beasts in there.

 By: G99 : March 14th, 2012-12:03
the Bell & Ross is an unexpected diversion from the usual, others are what you'd expect from the brands, but still funky. thanks for all the time taken to do this FX best Graham

FX, What GO skeleton is that pls. [nt]
