much better in the metal than the pictures. But still much prefer the 5970....

Much prefer the 5970P, too.

These two holes at each side of the 6 o clock subdial are not my cup of tea.... Best, Nicolas

The watch is actually pretty beautiful. But the one thing that I seriously

dislike is how the track curves below 6 o'clock. A mistake in the design of the dial. Otherwise it would be a pretty gorgeous watch.

Go figure...

... what went through the mind of the designers, and the decision makers about that tumor at "6"... Rarely i've seen such a unanimous reaction about it. Can't find someone who likes it. Best case, we hear that its not that bothering.

uggh!

The asymmetry on the dial is simply too much! Somehow, my eyes keep on focusing on this, rather than the rest of the watch. Just my opinion.

I still ...

like it :-) Thanks! Oliver

At least you do Oliver

It is a deal killer from me. HSWA called me on Thursday and offered me a blue one through my AD next week. First shipment in the states supposedly (not sure I believe that). I passed. They asked, why? look at the tach.

You don´t like it. OK, it´s not a big deal.

Time will tell how many feel like you. Anyway, I guess quite a few people will "love" it in the long run ;-) Good luck with finding the piece you really like and in case you already own it - enjoy! Oliver

Ok. Looked at it again

I really want to like the blue dial. Every time I look it gets worse for me. Sorry! As many know I am an avid Patek collector. I fly the flag for the brand but I can't get over the pregnant tach

Just curious..

Is it customary for HSWA to call customers directly on behalf of their AD's prior to shipment from the distributor??? This is the first time that I have heard of such a call.

Don't know

I think it depends on your relationship.

I like it!

Even more than 5270G. The blue typo is nice and also the second hand. If I could choose it without the detour at 6 o'clock, I would. But it is nice, could bear it on my wrist :-)

Agree with all sentiments stated prior..

Completely asymmetrical and the pregnant 6 is just bad. I'll still with my original first dial 5270. Blows this one out of the water aesthetically.

I think the dial is well balanced but I don't like the concave bezel

on this reference. It's too subtle and would have preferred a convex one. Just a matter of taste, but not my cup of tea.

curved track

 By: watch-er : February 12th, 2014-11:10
I also do not like the curved track at 6, I wonder what they were thinking? The 5270 to me is too plain, sterile and lacking in charisma. I do not think minor dial shades and colors can improve it. The previous generations have a lot more character. Just ...

Bravo!

Just three sentence! That is the point!!!
