HYT opens first boutique in S.E. Asia at Kuala Lumpur's Starhill Gallery
Switzerland, 24 November 2014 - HYT has opened its first eponymous boutique located in Starhill Gallery, Kuala Lumpur’s exclusive shopping complex.

Independent Swiss luxury watch brand HYT opens its first proprietary boutique in Kuala Lumpur’s Starhill Gallery confirming its commitment to S.E Asia’s luxury market.
The Hydro Mechanical Horologists debuted their store during the annual Journey Through Time VIII exhibition that unites the world’s most select collection of fine watches and jewellery for 8 days of mastery, innovation and technical prowess. A 250 people strong party with VIP guests and local and foreign dignitaries accompanied the boutique launch.
Launched in 2012 The Hydro Mechanical Horologists revolutionised the market with the use of game changing fluid technology that unites mechanics and liquid within a wristwatch.
The use of hydro mechanics was a first ever in the watch industry and HYT was the winner of the 2012 Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prize, Best innovative Watch Concept (Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève).
2 years on and HYT has more than 50 points of sale worldwide. The last 6 weeks have been particularly productive for HYT as they opened HYT Asia in Singapore, the brand’s first (non-retail) subsidiary to cater to the pressing demand coming from collectors in the region. This was followed by the launch of a commercial partnership with retail giant Time International for an exclusive distribution of its time pieces in Indonesia.
HYT CEO Vincent Perriard said ‘I can’t begin to tell you how excited we are to be opening our first store. We are excited by this rapid expansion, by the passion that our watches evoke in collectors and by the dynamic that is so present in South East Asia and that has allowed us such powerful growth on the ground’. Perriard continued, ‘Starhill Gallery is an exquisite space, iconic for its classical beauty on the one hand and support of new and cutting edge brands on the other and we are proud to be here’.
