Hi, Scott,
Forgive me if I'm wrong, but there is something a bit disingenuous in your comments, segue from your original post starting this whole sub-thread:
"Give me a Koenig, a Porsche, a Ferrari, a Lotus, a Mercedes. But Lamborghini? Lamborghini lacks the heritage of a Ferrari or a Porsche. "
(So does Koenigsegg lack heritage, made worse with its bland soapbar styling imho. If I were to follow your lead, I'd write "...someone I know finally realized he went blind and lost all his good taste when he got swept up in the hysteria of the insipid blandness of the 'egg. Luckily he heeded his less visually and taste impaired friends and wife and children and realized early enough that paper specs and concepts dont mean shit when the final product is so ugly and unreliable that only flaming douchey billionaires needy to show off their obscene wealth to compensate for their physical shortcomings would possibly consider wasting their million dollars on one..." true, dat, but I would present it more politely and respectfully 😉😜 - in case anyone misses the point, I was making a point and being deliberately rude...😜)
"My neighbor recently got a Lambo, and only after being called a douche-bag (!!! Um, really? See above)
by his wife, kids business associates (and the neighbors), he has since UPGRADED (!!! Was this supposed to be ironic? Sure didnt come across that way, more a SLAG from a hater, emphasized by the CAPS)
to a Porsche Macan. (Um, yeah, ok...sure. whatever.)
And while certainly very successful, he is humble enough to admit he was acting like a petulant child when making the purchase and almost immediately had buyer's remorse. (Hmmm...I wonder how that was supposed to be taken, if not derogatory and dimunizing to Lambos and Lambo owners?)
In the end, he was lucky enough to get out of it for what he paid, which was upwards of $275,000. I have no issue with someone spending whatever they want on a car, be it Rolls, Bentley, whatever... in fact, I've got my eyes on a Aston... But at the end of the day Lamborghini is simply and utterly douchey. (That last statement is as declarative and hate judgemental as any I've had the displeasure to read, made more so with the reference to Rolls Royce, as excessive and obscenely douchey as any current automotive offering currently extant, if I were inclined to pronounce douchey-ness as some sort of self-appointed arbiter of doucheyness 😆😂; yours didnt come across as an opinion, it was a declaration of fact, the dos centavos qualifier notwithstanding...)
Scott, you know we allow, even encourage, expressions of all opinions, presented honestly and respectfully / civilly. Dissenting, ironic, or otherwise. We care very little about political correctness of the opinion so long as it is not presented rudely or disrespectfully.
You've been around long enough to know this.
Cheers,
TM
